Giving to mcdonogh

Your generosity will leave a lasting impact on the lives of current and future McDonogh students

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to support McDonogh, we offer a range of options tailored to your philanthropic goals. Whether you wish to contribute to the McDonogh Fund, establish or enhance an endowed fund, or arrange a planned gift, we are here to help you realize your vision.

We are profoundly grateful to the alumni, parents, and friends who share a deep commitment to McDonogh’s mission and its continued success. Thank you for considering a gift!

WAYS TO GIVE

All gifts to McDonogh School are tax-deductible and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and teachers. McDonogh’s fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30.

Online/Digital Payments

Making a gift online is simple and convenient. Our online giving portal accepts all major credit cards and is also compatible with Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay, and GooglePay. You can easily set up a recurring gift or make a one-time donation.

Check

Checks made payable to McDonogh School may be sent to:
Office of Philanthropy
McDonogh School
8600 McDonogh Road
Owings Mills, MD 21117-0380

Cryptocurrency

McDonogh uses Bitpay to process cryptocurrency gifts. Visit McDonogh's Bitpay donation page to donate an accepted cryptocurrency. If you have questions, please contact Pat Muth in the Office of Philanthropy at pmuth@ravennahomeowners.net or 443-544-7056.

Recurring Gift

The consistent and dependable support of our sustaining donors is the bedrock of our annual giving program. Monthly and yearly recurring donations may be set up through our online giving portal and may be modified or canceled at any time.

Securities and Wire Transfers

For transfer instructions and to notify McDonogh of an incoming gift of cash or stock, please contact Meredith Sheehan in the Office of Philanthropy at msheehan@ravennahomeowners.net or 443-544-7044.

Donating appreciated securities may provide an enormous benefit to both you and McDonogh. Upon transfer, you can claim a charitable tax deduction for the full, fair market value of the securities and pay no capital gains tax. Your gift will produce a deduction far greater than the “cost” you initially paid for the security.

Individual retirement arrangement (IRA) owners age 70½ or over can transfer up to $100,000 to charity tax-free each year. These transfers, known as qualified charitable distributions (QCDs), offer a great way to easily give to charity. And for those who are at least 73 years old, QCDs count toward the IRA owner's required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.

Planned Gifts and Bequests

Planned gifts and bequests allow you to support McDonogh’s mission while receiving financial and tax benefits. Giving options range from naming McDonogh as a beneficiary in your will to more complex trust arrangements. Please contact  Beth Hopkins at bhopkins@ravennahomeowners.net for more information.

Matching Gifts

You may be able to double your gift through your company’s matching gift program. Check with your employer’s Human Resources department or visit our Matching Gifts resource page to search by company name.
